  • All EFDA courses (except Restorative II) begin at 10am to allow students (in most cases) to drive in the morning of the course and avoid a hotel stay.
  • Basic Skills Review begins at 8:15am.
  • If an overnight stay is needed, see this list of hotels with any MDA negotiated discounts and a map with proximity to the Training Center.

Course Registration Process

Before you register for a course and begin your coursework, you should read the overview within each course section to ensure your understanding of the process and various course components.

You will select an available EFDA clinical course date for the expanded functions you desire to attain (Restorative I, Restorative II, Orthodontics, Removable Prosthetics, Fixed Prosthetics).

You must fully complete the course Registration form and waiver and pay your course fee to be considered registered for a course! You also must include with your form and payment a copy of any required certification or permit verification. You may fax or mail the registration materials. You can find a specific form for each course in the section below.

If you register well in advance of the course date and wish to have the online review opened before the normal review period to allow additional study time, you may email the MDA or call 573-634-3436 to make this request. Please allow 5-10 days for information and packets to be mailed.

The MDA works to schedule courses as often as possible to meet the demands of dental assistant EFDA training. If it states there are "no courses scheduled at this time," please note we will add courses as soon as possible. The courses listed below are those that both still have open spots and are not past the final registration deadline.

Course sizes are limited and are filled on a first come, first served basis. You are encouraged to register early to ensure availability. You are NOT considered registered until required copies of certification/permits are received by the MDA.

There is a course minimum for 4 registrants to hold a course. If the minimum is not met, you will be contacted about moving to the next scheduled course.

Become a Course Trainer

EFDA Trainer Sign Up

At the above link, you will find the currently scheduled EFDA courses the MDA needs dentist trainers to attend and teach.

Our goal for 2024 courses is to get new trainers to attend and onboarded for future courses as well. If you sign up, please make sure that you can attend. We can't hold courses without the trainers. Backup trainers will only be needed should a regular trainer not be able to attend due to illness or emergency.

If all sign up slots are filled, but you would like to be considered for future courses, or have questions about training, contact Mandy Lewis. You also may read this brief overview for details.
